I used to record alerts over
the internet, but have since stopped this practice.
I'm in the process of removing these from my main EAS numbering
schema, but still plan to keep all videos up!
Some notes: currently I'm updating all of my videos to have the same format for title, description, and numbering. This months-long project will allow me to calculate statistics, see some insights about my videos, and re-number videos to fit in order of date/time recorded. The biggest change for internet-recorded alerts is that these recordings will now be removed from my main EAS counting schema. I've had a love-hate relationship with my internet recordings, but don't count them to be 'true' activations for my counting purposes. I like to have the experience of being at a physical location with a weather radio when the alert comes through. These videos will not be removed though, as I also believe they should be permanently preserved - they just will not longer be numbered is all. Links under the 'Alert Info' column will be updated to the new Iowa Environmental Mesonet standard, as their VTEC browser was updated in 2025. Stations with an '*' are only presumed to be from that station.
