MD 270 (East Furnace Branch Road) is a short state highway that connects two different parts of Glen Burnie. Its southern terminus is at MD 648 (Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard) near Marley Creek; its northern terminus is MD 3 Business (Crain Highway). When originally opened in the 1930's, it connected two different parts of then-MD 2.

MD 270 intersects MD 3 Business (Crain Highway) just a little over 600 feet ahead of MD 2. MD 2's current alignment on Governor Ritchie Highway was constructed throughout the 1930's and was to run parallel just a few hundred feet from Crain Highway through Glen Burnie, explaining why these intersections are so close to one another. MD 270 ends at MD 3 Business as it has since its completion in the early 1930's.
