I-795 (Northwest Expressway) is an interstate that runs from I-695 to MD 140 northwest of Baltimore. It's almost 9 miles long, but only has 4 exits; it mainly serves Owings Mills and Reisterstown. I-795 also helps travelers heading northwestward to Westminster, Hanover, and Gettysburg bypass local traffic.

MD 140 splits here towards the historic Reisterstown area while I-795 takes on most of the continuing traffic. We also get a couple of confirming markers as MD 140 south traffic and MD 140 north/MD 30/MD 128 traffic merge onto I-795 from two different ramps.

I-795 isn't the shortest interstate by any means, but for being nearly 9 miles long, it certainly has few exits. One of the two (!) exits that aren't its beginning or end is Franklin Boulevard - this serves Reisterstown and some more forested areas near Liberty Resevoir.

The next few photos are some oddities, including one thing I've never seen before: a tractor riding down the interstate. Besides this, we get a VMS and an odd sign trying to promote the Baltimore Metro, which starts in the median at the next exit. I don't believe the "Ahhhhhh..." is MUTCD compliant.

I-795's next exit is Owings Mills Boulevard, a major thoroughfare through Owings Mills that connected to its former mall, now torn down. It also connects to the starting point of the Baltimore Metro. Along this stretch of I-795, truck restrictions come into place, possibly because of the proximity to the metro line in the median.

From here, I-795 ends and continues as I-695 either towards Towson (and New York) or Glen Burnie (and Washington DC). I-795 is orphaned from I-95 and doesn't connect to it at all.

I-795 has ended, but I have one more gem to show off: this I-695 state-named shield that is on the farthest right side where traffic merges from I-795 to I-695 south. It can be easy to miss but is really visible when coming onto I-695 south. I have pics of it from I-695's lanes, but you get the best view when you come from I-795.
