The arrivals and departures of BWI Airport both lead to I-195; both levels split towards either I-195 West or Elm Road. The arrivals level shows the split to Elm Road as 'Cell Phone Lot' while the departures level shows the split to Elm Road as 'To MD 170/I-97 Annapolis'. Both overhead signs are correct, but it's odd they aren't marked with the same destinations.
Now that the I-195 slip lanes merge, we see the first I-195 markers. This is an error though: I-195 was truncated to MD 170 in 2015; these markers have been there since at least 2008 and pre-date the truncation. The next exit is for the terminal turn-around and access to Terminal Road, which leads to hotels and other parking lots around BWI.
The first exit on I-195 is MD 170 (Aviation Boulevard), part of the Airport Loop. The Airport Loop comprises of MD 170, MD 176, and MD 162, which all circle around the airport. This section of I-195 is the original airport connector road built in the 1950's.
The exit following MD 170 is MD 295 (Baltimore-Washington Parkway). This was the original terminus of MD 46, the original airport connector expressway, until 1991 when MD 46 was connected to MD 166. BWI's status as serving both Baltimore and Washington is assisted by roads like MD 295 and I-95.
The section from MD 295 to US 1 is the newest section of I-195, completed in 1991. Prior to I-195's construction, Maryland road maps guided drivers from BWI to I-195 by a weird combo of roads: drivers would exit MD 295 south to MD 176 (Dorsey Road), then taking MD 176 to US 1 in Elkridge (this was prior to MD 100's full completion), and finally US 1 to the small, disjointed section of MD 100 which ended at I-95.
The final exit after US 1 is I-95, which was built in the early 1970's as a disjointed section of MD 46, but later redesignated as an extended MD 166. Oddly enough, I-195 east is shown to begin immediately after the turn off Rolling Road, but I-195 west has an end sign at I-95. The expressway portion of the westbound road after I-95 is technically MD 166, which is how it's signed on I-95.
