Turning from MD 166 (Rolling Road) we see the first I-195 reassurance marker. This is a bit of a technicality error: this section of road is still MD 166, as I-195 proper doesn't begin until we reach I-95 in about a mile. Based on the signs, eastbound I-195 seems to start at Rolling Road while westbound I-195 has an end marker just past I-95.

I-195 quickly approaches I-95. This interchange was built in 1968 and was connected to MD 166 and US 1 by 1972. The on-ramp from I-95 southbound to I-195 eastbound is a left merge.
We approach US 1 (Washington Boulevard) next. This section was signed as a discontinuous MD 46 early on, but later changed to an extension of MD 166. This extension initially ended at US 1 until 1991, when I-195 was completed and opened in full between the MD 166 section and MD 46 sections. US 1 southbound leads to Elkridge, while it runs to the north towards Halethorpe, Arbutus, and eventually Baltimore.
The section between US 1 and MD 295 was finished in 1991, the same time the I-195 designation was added to the road. I-195 from MD 295 to BWI Airport was the original airport connector road. Originally built in the 1950's, this early expressway was meant to connect the new B-W Parkway to the also new Friendship Airport. An extension to I-95 was needed and planned early on, but not completed for 30 years.
The next and final exit is MD 170 (Aviation Boulevard), a part of the Airport Loop. The Airport Loop is a loose ring road that comprises of MD 170, MD 176, and MD 162, which was created from three existing roads around BWI Airport.
ENDS | The BWI Airport entrance road continues ahead
I-195 was truncated from the BWI Airport entrance road to MD 170 in 2015. MD 995A was the hidden designation for this section of road, but was eventually transferred to the Maryland Aviation Authority by 2019. The airport access road has various exits, including two for authorized vehicle service roads, one for hourly parking, one for the express exit, and the split for arrivals and departures. From here, both the arrivals and departures loop back to the start of I-195 westbound.
