MD 173 passes MD 607 on its final approach to Fort Smallwood State Park. The drive in this area is filled with marina communities that line Rock Creek and the Patapsco River's mouth as it empties into the Chesapeake Bay.

Approaching the end of MD 173, we see an off looking "ROAD ENDS" sign. A variation of this sign has been here since at least 2008 according to GSV, but this particular one was replaced in the last few years. Right ahead of it is a pretty rare 'END' sign (at least in Maryland) for MD 173. It's always a joy to see these! On the road ahead is a traffic circle that leads to the entry to Fort Smallwood State Park.
